Indication
Vaginal discomfort such as itching, burning or discharge may indicate a bacterial or fungal infection and an imbalance in the vaginal bacterial flora. If you are experiencing vaginal discomfort, you should contact your doctor for a clarification of the possible reasons for your discomfort. A normal vaginal bacterial flora is characterized by the presence of lactic acid bacteria and a pH between 3.8 and 4.5. The vaginal bacterial flora can be disrupted by vaginal showers, intercourse, menstruation, the use of inadequate sanitary products, metabolic diseases (eg diabetes), stress, hormonal changes (eg in connection with pregnancy and menopause), after antibiotic treatment or after vaginal medical treatment.
